There are a number of questions to ask and things to look for when buying a used car. The size & location of the dealership can say a lot.
Large, well located used car dealerships are more likely to be concerned about their reputation and how the customer views them. This business is based on Repeat & Referrer Business. This is a very large financial & human commitment window of employees who are in it for the long run. We understand how to run a successful business built on a commitment to high morals and values.
The smaller used car dealers in some cases may not be interested in Repeat & Referrer / good customer service. They need to do business just to pay bills & stay in business.
You are probably wondering, “What should I consider when buying a used car?” Here’s one of the questions you should ask.
Does the dealership offer a full service department with good rates?
It's always nice to deal with a place that will service what they sell. If they have a finance office, you can very often find that the dealership can offer you great rates & value added products.
If they have a business office, you may want to ask the following questions:
- Is it a hassle free place to buy your car?
- Are the prices clearly marked or are they surrounded by cheesy sales gimmicks?
- Is the inventory clean & presented well?
- Is the facility clean & professional looking?
- Is the sales staff clean & dressed professionally?
- Is the grass cut, snow cleared, flags / displays new & clean?
- Does the general maintenance look & feel professional?
If so, this goes a long way in showing what kind of people you are dealing with. It takes time, money, and effort to maintain an appearance that shows they care!
Another of the things to look for when buying a used car is a dealer with a good reputation. Ask around to find out if other customers have been satisfied.
In today's market it is best to deal with dealerships that display their BEST PRICE so that there is no need to enter into negotiations. Being a dealership that displays its very best price, we find that the customers buying experience is much more enjoyable.
The main reasons for one pricing policy
The internet has changed the way people shop and buy. If our dealership was to put an inflated price in the hopes of making a big deal, our showroom would be empty! We have found by putting your best price forward, you will get your share of happy customers. We make market adjustments to our prices as the market changes. This is the future of the car business! By doing so, the car business will create & instill confidence in the consumer that they are being treated fairly & with respect.
We understand that we are a community based business. We sell many of the same vehicles to our community so it would be a shame if we were to sell the same type of vehicle to two different people with a big price difference. This would be bad for our business, not to mention embarrassing for the consumer who paid more. We have made a commitment to consumers who have dealt with us that we will not violate their trust!
We hear it all of the time, “come on, you can drop the price.” Our answer is always the same, even if we wanted to, we would not risk violating the trust of our customers who understood our pricing policy & paid the listed price. We will do what we can to earn your business, but reducing the price based on the consumer is not an option.
